I once, long ago, had a neighbor who gave me a single shoot of an Elephant Ear plant. It quickly grew several more plants and has been fairly hardy; making it through several winters.
But tonight was the first night it ever bloomed.
These images were taken with long exposures lit by my front porch light. The accumulation of a couple of years worth of dead bugs in the bottom of the light fixture provides a nice warm glow and gentle diffusion.
The neighbor who gave me this beautiful plant is now in prison for the next twenty years for unspeakable crimes.
